<HTML>The US did not have the practice of sinking Japanese hospital ships. One Japanese ship was given safe passage by the US for POW supply deliveries, and then accidently sunk by a US sub shooting by radar bearings in the fog. The US sub commander was court-marshalled. This in spite of the fact that the sub recovered several bales of rubber that the ship was carrying instead of the promised supplies.</HTML>
