Curious about something I heard recently

I subscribe to an email service that sends out an email every day listing historical events for the day, ect. Anyways, on December 1st, I received an email listing the following occurrence: \"In 1996, an oil tanker sunk by the Japanese in 1941 was located off the coast of California, with its cargo intact.\"
Does anyone know what is being referred to? If so, would you, who does know, be willing to send me information about this wreck? </HTML>
