Thanks for the information. Classifying what patrols were considered part of Drumbeat is a problem I know. Gannon states that it was just those five boats as you mentioned...while other authors say it included all boats that operated of the Americas from the initial 1942 attacks until 1943 when the boats were recalled.I am going to check with the U-boat Archive on this point and see what they say.
