Hello Barry,
well, these Black Ones yesterday in memory of this great Irish Gentleman will be always kind of an Enigma to us Continantels why they are so tasty and to be recovered the next morning rather easely.
Anyway I recall when talking to my godfather about this subject he told me that in the summer of 1942 a lot of the commanders were highly suspious the Allies had cracked the system hence Doenitz agreed to have a fourth "wheel" added to the machine. And having done so for a couple of weeks it seemed to be helping. Plus I think one of the British brass approached Doenitz during the Nuremberg trials breaking the news to him.
You all have a nice day.
Sincerely Yours
