I know there is a very similar post on this forum. And I have used the link, [ubootwaffe.net], as a source. My question is, what type of data does the U-boot archive have? Crews lists? Personnel records? I will gladysend a letter and donation. Just want to make sure they can help with locating info on my Great Uncle.

My great uncle served in pre WWII and during the war on U-Boats. My father never had a chance to meet him but did talk on the phone with him a few times times. My grandfather and my great uncle had a falling out sorts 20 years ago, and they never spoke to each other again. Not that my grandfather knew much, or would talk about his brother. My grandfather was a strange person that way.

Anyway, all I know is my Great Uncle served on U-Boats. That's it. I have one picture of him. Per the uniform pics on this site, looks like he was a Sgt. Can't tell the actaul rank and job. No clear view of his shoulder boards.
