Hi All
I posted a thread a week or so ago, regarding the bbc report that stated the
U-534 has possibly found a new home.
If you have followed the story of the U-534, you will be aware that its future has had a black cloud looming over it for over twelve months. Finally, we heard the news that she will have a new home (although this has been contridicted by a freind of mine who has heard a different story) and will move to a new location a couple of kilometers from her current resting place. However, this is to come at a cost and the boat will be sliced into three sections!
On hearing this news, a freind and I has decided to try and do something about the plans to slice and dice the boat, as we do not feel that this is the best way forward to preserve her history.
I have stated a couple of petitions. One of which has just been approved by 10 Downing St and will hopefully go to the PM. Unforuantely though, this can only be signed by residents of the UK. So, I have also started a Global petition which anyone can sign.
If anyone reading this would like to do their part to try and save the U-534 as a complete boat, this is your chance to step forward.
There is a possibility that nothing will become of this, but I don't feel that I can sit back without at least expressing my concern and arguing in favour of keeping her intact. If the boat was cut up, it will be an absolute tragedy and her historical importance and presence will lost forever.
You can sign the petition through my site:

Thank you in anticipation of your support.
