This is the place to discuss general issues related to the U-boat war or the war at sea in WWII.
Just a thought........

I see that there are nearly 150 names on the petitions - very good as it has only been there for less than two weeks
BUT
Not so good considering the number of people around this world of ours that are interested in U-boats, the battle of the Atlantic and naval/maritime history in general.
The 'thought' well yes, that was for anybody who has any contact with/email addresses of other museums etc that might be interested in helping get some signatures. I was thinking of places like:-
Marine Ehrenmal Laboe - U995
Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago U505
Royal Naval Submarine Museum, Gosport, U.K. - HMS Alliance
Deutsches Museum, München the original SMU 1
Any/all Ubootkammeradschaft e.V. in Germany and other countries
Any/all Submarine Old Comrades Assocations in the U.K. and world wide
Perhaps the museums could be contacted and asked to display a notice about the petition (including relevant email addresses). I know that there are thousands who visit these places every year and a large number of them must have internet access.
The Old Comrades/Alte Kameraden could circulate their member by whatever means they have.
Regards to all

PS do you guys really want to have a shave in a couple of years time with a razor blade marked "Made in China from U-534 steel"?
No disrespect to our Chinese friends is intended
