U-boat officer awarded Knights Cross by Goering?

If I remember correctly in a U-boat history there was a report of a visting U-boat officer who helped repeal a aircraft attack on Goering private train by manning the train's flank battery-was awarded an Knight's Cross by Goering -only to have decoration taken from him on the grounds that the action wasn't a "Naval" action!! Did this actually happen?
