Hi Nick,

She returned with engin damage, reaching Bergen 6.4.45
4. 17.4.45 Left again for British Coastal waters.
U 1109 was still in her operational area on 4.5.45 when the U-Boat
war ended. In accordance with the instructions received, she made
for Lock Eriboll and surrendered there 12.5.45
U 1109 was one of 116 boats disposed of by the Royal Navy in Operation Dreadlight. In early January 1946 the boat was towed from Lisahally by the destroyer HMS Zetland.
U 1109 was sunk on 5.1.46 NNW of Troy Island by gunfire by the submarine HMS Templar.
Note* The UBoat.net states U1109 was sunk by a torpedo from HMS Templar...

I'm not sure who is correct, but I sort of doubt they would waist a torpedo on a U-boat to be sunk?
Regards,
