U-35 commanded by KL Werner Lott left Wilhelmshaven for the Atlantic on 8/9/39,she was unsuccessfully attacked by British submarine {HMS Ursula]in the Heligo Bight. She sank two fishing vessels off St Kilda by gunfire on the 18th.Three days later she made second convoy attack of the war, when she torpedoed and damaged the tanker SS Teakwood from convoy OA 7 west of the Scillies. On 1/10/39 sank the SS Suzon near Ushant by torpedo and gunfire. Later she was sunk 29.11/39 WEst of Bergen, by depth charge attacks. Her entire crew wer taken to the Tower of London, and later to Grizedale Hall in the Lake District to a POW camp. This may beof some help? Happy New Year, Paul.
