The German built U-Boat pens in Bergen are an active Norwegian submarine facility and are not open to the public. Like most u-boat facilities, they are hideously ugly and very imposing looking.
If you ask people in Bergen where the German U-Boat facilities are located, most will not be aware of their location. However, I did find a 90 year old man who gave me detailed accounts of the British bombing raids that leveled most of Laksevag, hitting a school and killing hundreds of children. I asked him if Norwegians were upset at the British at the time, and he said that they weren't.
