But please remember that us Anglo Saxons, as you choose to call us) never, ever had U-boats - we had Submarines. It was the Axis forces that had U-boats (something W.S. Churchill said about them one time)
Also N.B. There is no such thing as a UK Navy it is the ROYAL NAVY. Perhaps the only navy in the world that does not have the name of it's country in the title unlike the R.N.Z.N.(New Zealand) or the U.S. Navy etc. or in reference to their ships being just H.M.S. Royal Oak etc. When I was at sea all foreign ships used to dip their ensigns in salute when passing a ship of the Royal or Merchant Navy.
(I have seen it done a few times).
It's the same with our stamps it is quite sufficient just to have the head of the reigning monarch on the stamp without the name of the country.

Well, perhaps they would but a lot of the naval dockyards no longer exist as such and a lot of the work now done on our warships is done by private enterprise/contractors etc.

This country doesn't even provide proper military hospitals to treat our wounded service men and women so why bother with an important historical relic.
