Thanks everyone.
Responses so far confirm the identity of the vessel coming alongside U-826 as U-293 in Admiralty photo A.28528.
And they confirm that U-293 did surrender to Loch Eriboll and did not therefore sail direct to Loch Ailsh as quoted in the published histories.
Appropriate amendments have been made to my records.
