<HTML>Several of the responses to my post just prove my point that it is a waste of time discussing war crimes as it is too emotive an issue for many people. Incidentally, just because the US Navy exercised unrestricted submarine warfare as well doesnt make the north atlantic battle any less abhorent. It just means they were both morally wrong. If you sink a vessel you have a moral responsibility to pick up survivors if their own side cannot do it. To leave men to a slow death is unforgivable. If you did it on land as happened on the eastern front you would expect to suffer the legal consequences at sea should be no diffferent. Whether you are in the Pacific or the Atlantic makes no difference. This is exercising the proper duty of care for the vanquished by the victors. This is my last post on this topic so all those about to have a hissy fit type as much as you like but I wont read it.</HTML>
