The U-boat you are asking about is U-977 Heinz Schaeffer. He did in fact write his own book which is easy to obtain. I finally found two photos of him if you are interested in seeing. It was alledged he had Hitler and I believe another top nazi like Bormann onboard. These accounts were found false.</HTML>
