I hope to see U-995 as well.

I also hope my comments were not interpreted to mean that I oppose some kind of restoration or preservation of U-534. On the contrary, I strongly support it.

In regards to the value of viewing a rusty WWII wreck, I can only say that the rusty wrecks speak to me even more clearly than the restored museum pieces. It\'s nothing I can explain, but I\'m sure divers who visit rotting hulks on the sea floor have similar sentiments.

Overall, I\'m rather puzzled that several forum posters find the recovery of a u-boat (that is not a war grave) objectionable. I sympathize with complaints that it has not been well cared for since its recovery, but unless the complaintants somehow had to shoulder the cost of the recovery, why the protests? If I decided to pull a wrecked car from a junkyard and not restore it, you could certainly speculate that I was a fool, but unless you\'ve nothing better to do, what I do with the wreck is hardly worth your attention, much less any of your business.
