<HTML>This may sound crazy, but has anyone considered preserving the U-534 by sinking it? If it were sunk in a cold fresh water lake, like the North American Great Lakes, it would last for centuries. In the Great Lakes, the deeper wrecks are extremely well preserved. Would you believe wrecks from the \'20s with bodies aboard? Not skeletons, bodies. Two ships from the Revolutionary War still have standing masts, rigging and cutlasses in racks. Does Britain have a lake that would do?
The U-534 would be a great dive park and could be protected from looting by law.
