Thanks for your input Ken. I'm mystified as to why anyone would attempt to "fake" an obsure imprint (U701) on a virtually unknown boat (??). The watch maker Champagne Watch Co of Bienne---tradename ASTER was in fact a supplier to the German government, prior to the government running out of convertible currency in the early 40s, As I mentioned, the designation DU is in dispute among collectors. The D stands for Dienstuhr---service watch---the U, who knows. Real imprint or not, it's a scarce watch, as mentioned on the website "D,DH,DU" and I'm quite pleased to have it.
