Hi Rainer
With respect not knowing the position of the wrecked vessel would suggest that U-218 being the culprit is just a likely guess. In fairness this could also be said of my evidence. However, my records are from survivor Ted Godding testimony and evidence and the Receiver of the Wreck report by the Secretary of State for Transport (Maritime & Coastguard Agency). Both of which state it was a British laid anti-sub mine field.
I will post more evidence if I am able to contact Ted's family. Plus the position of the wreck when I locate my records on HMS Kurd.
