I remember reading about this air attack in the book "Stalking the U-boat" written by Max Schoenfeld. The assessment of COMINCH was not optimstic, they wrote that it was a good straddle but the depth charges probably fell too far ahead of the U-boat to be lethal and judged that the attack probably caused only slight damage.
