<HTML>Hi Rainer and Nonny

Sole real case when IL-2 was shot down by U-Boat: 30.07.44 in Narwa Bay (in Gulf of Finland) two IL-2 from 35.ShAP had attack against U 481 but one of them was damaged by flak fire and later ditched.
Probability that U-676 shot down a Yak-9 is small. Fighters Yak-9 weren’t took part in attack against ships in anchorage but were in air cover of IL-2 attack. So Yaks weren’t within range of flak fire, and possible case of loss was FW-190 attack (or technical problems).
By the way, on Uboat.net I see that U 242 claimed one Soviet aircraft shot down by 88-mm gun (!) on 10.10.44. This is a “”hunter story”. On 10 Oct 44 only in air raid against Libau losses were registered. U 242 that day left Pillau for Danzig.

Regards
Andrey
