<HTML>Hi Nonny
No, U-boats were not armed with the 3.7cm/57 Flak M43. The 3.7cm AA guns installed on U-boats were 3.7cm/69 M42 (longer barrel, six instead of eight rounds per ammunition strip). This weapon was installed in Turmumbau IV in 1944.
Maily type IX U-boats were fitted with a 3.7cm AA gun and a Flakvierling, because they had enough space for the bigger weapon.
U-676 (a type VIIC) was probably fitted with two twin 2cm AA guns or a twin 2cm and a Flakvierling. I was not able to find more information about the arnament of this particular boat. Perhaps someone else know more?
Regards
