U-3008 - Its Final Years

Dear All,
Does anyone know any details of the final 7 years of U-3008’s life after it was placed out of service by the US Navy at Portsmouth Navy Yard on 18 June 1948 and before it was sold for scrap in September 1955?
It was apparently used as a test hulk at Portsmouth Navy Yard for several years.
It was then scuttled in demolition tests in 1954, before being raised and towed to the US Navy facility at Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico prior to being put up for sale in 1955.
So, where was it, and what happened to it between 1948 and 1955? Where was it scuttled, when was it raised, and when was it towed to Puerto Rico?
There is a great big hole in the records, and I am looking for anyone who might be able to fill the gap. Perhaps someone who served on U-3008, someone who worked at PNY from 1948 onwards, or even someone who served at the Roosevelt Roads Navy Base in the first half of the 1950s.
Can anyone remember - please?
Yours aye
Derek
