<HTML>Some boats seem to have carried modified \"Schwere Wurfrahmen\" rocket launchers for experimental purposes of shore bombardments, where some rockets where actually launched underwater, some from sealed containers, others from open rail launchers. The experiments were promising although range was limited and aiming was a matter of luck. Development seems to have been halted for priority reasons but it had proved the possibility of underwater launch of rockets and this scared the whatsits out of the allies, especially the Americans. One old boat also seems to have been converted so that it could fire these small rockets from sealed silos / containers sunk into the deck which eventually led to afterwar developments by the allies. I forgot where I read this but I think it was an Russian Army publication in 1980 or so. I will try to look it up but this will involve a speleologic expedition into the basements of my house so don\'t hold your breath.
