Hello Derek,
thanks for the lot of work you have spend on this very informative article.
Here a little anecdote concerning U-2513, the last boat Topp took command of in WWII.
President Truman inspected the boat and then an troal the lights went out for a short moment and his bodygard got real nervous where as Truman did not seemed to be bothered.
