Have you tried to contact Keith Gill? He was the curator when the U-505 was moved
to its present location. According to a previous post concerning U-505 Bond tours,I
found his e-mail address: kgill@firstdivisionmuseum.org. He had/has a lot of info
and may be able to help you.
I viewed B&W photos of U-505 during her first move from Portsmouth,NH. Go to:
[www.uboat.net] - look at photos #3, #15, #16, #21, #23 & #24.
Can you tell if the screws were "dinged"?
