<HTML>Hi - once again Walter,
I forgot to mention in my last posting that Kptlt Bode was also commander of
U 858 from30.9.40 - Capitulation.
Walter, Ying is OK and very busy at work and, inspite of her love of ships and the sea she, herself, is not a very good swimmer so she is having private lessons in four styles of swimming and is determined to succeed. Its what one might call \"guts and determination\".
Sorry I dont know of any Italien pop singers - we dont get them over here. I do know of \"la Mer\" by the late Charles Trennet, and used to have some German recordings of sea shanties (lieder auf see) by a chap called \"Freddie\". Perhaps some of our older German friends will remember him. Would like to hear some of them again as they were probably sung by theU-boat crews as well as other seamen.
Regards
