Hi Rainer, just recieved a copy of U-108 at War, there are several photos of the Effna, however, she is shown as being sunk following the use of artillery, and not just by torpedo attack, there are questions of survivors shown in lifeboats afterwards, these appear to be from two different sinkings. In the book itself, there are, I note several discrepancies with the photo descriptions as well as of the photographs themselves. Of which, do you know if U108 had her aft 37mm deck gun removed before September 1942?, if not then in the photographs there are two type IX boats being described as being U108. Regards John
