<HTML>Generally speaking moored mines were pushed aside by the bow wave and the cable securing it to the weight on the seabed allowed it to swing out and strike a vessel amidships. I don\'t recall any ship being sunk by a floating mine which had broken away from it\'s mooring. Damage to the bow was probably caused by something else. </HTML>
