Hi Derek

Thank you the information, it's great to finally be getting some of the history of my father in law's U boat story.

We know he was first sent to POW camp 158 (we can't find any records of where this camp was) on the 17th May 1945 and he then went onto Camp 651 which I have found, was in Wellington,Shropshire.

Franz also said that he was on another U boat earlier in the war that was depth charged and this will be my next line of investigation.

His service number was UN43064/42 and his POW number was D417967.

Thank you very much for your input.

Kind regards

Greg
