Hi Guy's, The cause of this, is Paterson's 'Black Flag'. But, now having read it, the detail of the surrender, the land [French], bases is better covered than the disposal of U-boats, however, it is a good read. I am nevertheless somewhat confused to several things with the book. Having noted the two phases of disposal, in the first [Loch Ryan], he as well as U295 the U1009 and U1165 sailing from Lisahally. Secondly, the list of ships named towing during disposal, but not stating what ship sank them, however in [Niestle] book he lists the warships that sank each U-boat. On comparing the two, it reveals that different warship/s sank the U-boats to the one's that towed them, except with the last two U975 and U3514. Why were other warships deployed to sink the U-boats and not the one that towed her out? Seems a waste. Another point in the book, he lists the U-boats sunk in 'Regenbogen', and again here his list includes 29 scuttled U-boats not listed in U-boat.net. What U-boats should be included in Regenbogen?. Thanks for the interesting input thus far, hoping you can be again. Regards to all. John
