Does any enlightened soul in the forums have any idea if perhaps Peter Cremer(U 333) was in any way connected to the Belgian (Flemish) origin French by nationality actor Bruno Cremer, who died in 2010? The latter was most famous for his portrayal of the legendary Commissaire Maigret in a series dating from 1991 to 2005, not for his survival skills! In his autobiography, the U-boat commander referred to the embarassing moments of having to visit his French relatives during the war in civilian clothing so as not to embarass them.
