<HTML>Well, I try to explain. Of course the jokes are quite politically incorrect, otherwise they aren\'t funny. The themes are:
1) Poles hate Germans and dislike Russians. When they were attacked on both sides, in 1939, they had no hope, but some of their vessels escaped to the U.K.
2) Russians dislike Poles and consider them dumb and uneducated. These feelings are anyway reciprocal.
3) Losses of the mighty Italian Navy and Merchant Marine were appalling during WW2. Mediterranean Sea is carpeted with wrecks. Present day Italians consider that like a tourists’ attraction and built their boats accordingly.
