ITALIAN SHIP SUNK I SOUTH ATLANTIC

I wonder if anyone who read the book Three Miles Down James Hamilton Paterson on the ship Aurelia sunk in the South Atlantic in 1943. The author mentions that the ship's name is false, as well as the submarine who sank her. The ship was carrying a load in tons of gold.
