Sub attacks lighthouse

In the winter or early spring of 1932 a U-boat surfaced off Cape Race, Newfoundland (the southern tip of Newfoundland) and machine gunned a light house for several hours. HMCS Niagara was sent to look for the sub but it escaped.

Has anyone come across a U-boat log entry that might tell us which sub this was?
