Hi Walter, in Ubootarchiv they describe the action as U553 sighted convoy TAW-13 on 17.08.1942 at 14:17, with some aircraft overhead. The commander decided to attack. On the 18th at 04:00 U553 closed and at 05:59 two torpedoes were fired at overlapping ships, which the Blankholm was hit and then sank. Also mentioned two further torpedoes were fired at 06:03 and four at 09:13. John
