Hi, in his revised 2014 U-boat losses Axel states [original postwar assessment changed by author in July 1996. The attack by Wellington W of RAF 612 squadron on 28 April 1944 in position 45:38n / 09:43w, formerly credited with the destruction of U193 , was actually directed against U802 inflicting no damage. U193 was outbound for an operation in the mid-south Atlantic. When it failed repeatedly to report its position after sailing from Lorient it was reported missing in the Bay of Biscay effective 6th May 1944. There is presently no known explanation for its loss.] Regards John
