<HTML>As I have been working lately on this missing U-Boat, U 1021
I keep on coming across stories of U-Boats in WW2 taking on supplies of fresh water, from remote coves around Wales, to be exact the Gower and Pembrokeshire areas.
Myself, I can\'t see a U-Boat Captain taking the risk to get fresh water at night, in enemy territory, and at great risk to his U-Boat. But the people who tell me these stories say they are true. they are all over 70 years old, plus the fact they did not see these U-Boats themselves, but they had been told the stories.
Myth\'s becomes folklore.
Just two places they have supposed to have taken aboard fresh water: streams at Pwlldu bay, Gower, near Swansea and at Abberiddy, near St. David\'s, Pembrokeshire.
The stories go, that the U-Boats used a long hose (it would have to be over 40 metres long) to take aboard the fresh water.
Did U-Boats have a hose, would Captains take such a risk.
Hope you U-Boat Experts can put this one to bed.
