Okay, let\'s settle this matter once and for all

First off, I am not a diver, just a amateur historian and a cadet training to be an officer in the US Air Force. Grave robbing seems to be an issue that persons like to use to draw shame on those who collect u-boat artifacts, even if the purchaser had no information or part in the actual recovery of an artifact. I am not for the disturbance of human remains.
My father was in the US Army during Vietnam, 1966 to be exact in the First Cavalry Division. Subsequently, my interest in military history comes from him. I have heard accounts from veterans of the Gulf War of US soldiers rifling the bodies of dead Iraqis, taking money and jewelry without regard to the lost soul, cutting off fingers with bayonets to remove gold rings in cases. The Iraqis were \"The Bad Guys,\" and the was was young and a victory for the coalition forces, no one seemed to mind the shredding of a few dead Iraqis for the \"Spoils of War.\" This attitude existed at times during and immediately following WWII. Items were taken from dead German, Italian and Japanese soldiers as \"Spoils of War.\" Vehicles, aircraft and vessels were no exception to this rule. To get to the point of this post, please do not harrass or assault someone who asks for the history of a u-boat item. If you want to go on a crusade to prevent the disturbance of German war graves, I will support your efforts 100%. Otherwise, please keep your comments to yourself. If you have nothing good to say, don\'t say anything at all.
