<HTML>Given that the date is end of December 1941 (judging by a conversation between the CO and the sonar operator after the escape from Gibraltar, they are (or will still be) at sea on Christmas day and decide to postpone any partying till they\'re back in port), it can\'t be much else but RAF. And in one of the shots, the planes are indeed more or less shown to dive out of nowhere (the sun?).
And now my guess is that someone better informed than me w.r.t. the RAF\'s bombimg capabilities at that point in time will most likelty tell us that the RAF didn\'t have the right type of plane available during that timeframe. :-)</HTML>
