Das Boot: a question!

<HTML>Hi everyone!!

I saw Das Boot many times, but isn\'t it right that in the movie the crew of U-96 are in La Rochelle? I saw on the uboat.net pages that they were in St. Nazaire. Why do you think that they (Wolfgang Petersen and the rest of the crew) changed this?
