<HTML>This is a story related by Peter Ustinov, he is attending a function at the American Whitehouse ( Gerald Ford ) and a guest was the visiting President of Austria. As the Austrian President enters the Marine Band strike up \'Edelweiss\' (sp) from the film sound of music. Mr Ford makes small talk with the Austrian and then says how much he likes the Austrian Folk tune \'Edelweiss\' and how it was mrs fords favourite. The Austrian President in a Diplomatic manner agreed with Mr. Ford.
Of course up until the Sound of Music was screened in Austria no Austrian had ever heard of it!</HTML>
