Judging solely from appearances, it must be Schwarzwaelder Kirschcreme, most definitely not a French dessert, since the cook was German, in the first place. It is a mouthwatering recipe, and every time I make it the whole house smells nice. If you want further details, I can send you the recipe in an e-mail, because otherwise we might hurt the feelings of other U-boat fanatics who have a "macho" perception of the whole site.
