Sorry, The rumor is wrong.

There is a Career mode, I have started one but have not finish my first mission, I'am still going after the other Destroyers.

The game has more feature than Aces did, you can raise and lower the periscope in increments and you have a snorkel for the Type XXII .

Hope this helps with the Career Rumor
