<HTML>The "U484" designation on the page I linked you to in my first message is obviously false, because "U-[number]" is a German naming standard, the Soviet or Russian navy hasn't used it.

Juliett is the official NATO name for the class, and Project 651 is the Soviet name for it.

I saw the sub when it was owned by Subexpo and on display in Helsinki. It was called 484 then and has been called that afterwards, I've never seen it been referred to as "584".

At the moment it's owned by the USS Saratoga museum and it's on display there. [www.saratogamuseum.org]

But hey, at least they used an authentic Soviet sub in the film. (Even though it was a diesel sub, not nuclear) More convincing as a starting point than what the makers of U-571 did.</HTML>
