"U-boat" movie info

The movie hopefully will make up for the damaging images of "u-571". The crew of an American submarine are on their way home (okay, stop making faces and read on). But their submarine is sunk for some reason and there are survivors. The crew of a German U-boat picks up the survivors(no, they don't shoot them). And then fate intervenes so that the Americans and the Germans need to work together to get out of a dangerous situation. That part is being left unclear.
Wow, a film that has American submarines in the Atlantic(yeah right, whatever) and Germans who defy their strict orders not to pick up survivors and show some mercy. What can I say? I don't know if I want to see this or swear off Hollywood submarine films for the rest of my life.
I know 1 thing. They better say its real history.
