<HTML>A squadron of U.S. Fleet Type Submarines made offensive war patrols in the Atlantic during 1942. Their operating base was Rosneath Scotland. Most of the patrols were off the coast of France in the Bay of Biscay. Check Allied Submarine Attacks in WWII for their targets. One of the boats fired a torpedo at a surfaced U-boat. The squadron returned to the states for new engines and transfer to the Pacific in late 42.</HTML>
