<HTML>Daryl:
1. The "yardbirds" that the Chief mentions, don't have hard-hats on, they're all wearing light blue Chambray shirts and dungarees. There are no "yard-birds to be seen.
2. The CO is running around the shipyard in his dress white uniform. Do you have any idea what it would look like in one hour in a shipyard?
2.The order is given to "set torpedo speed 35 knots." Submarine torpedoes had two settings, high at 46.3 knots for 4,500 yards, and low -at 31.5 knots for 9,000 yards.
3. The officers and crew are wearing caps and white hats while submerged. (Not in
my Navy)
4. White-hat crewmembers at officer's party? (Not in my Navy)
5. Three blasts of the diving alarm when diving? (Not in my Navy)
6. Officers never fall in with enlisted men.
7. The steward sez "his eggs' - they belong to the cook, he just carries them from the galley to the wardroom mess after they have been cooked.
8. Submariners don't wear pea-coats, they wear "foul-weather gear" topside (after uncovering the Swastika on the fairwater.)
9. Scene in wardroom mess - all items are sliding off the table - what happened to using wet towelling on the table surface in heavy weather? (Even "skimmers" know
that much).
Shall I continue, or have you had enough?
Cheers,
