When Tom Clancy sold the rights for "Hunt F+or Red October" he did insist on being present during parts of the filming, to ensure that the director followed the srory. That doesn't mean that he had his way all the time, but compromises were made.
I know that J.T. can "sell" his two novels to some sharp director/
producer, and good movies wii be the result.
