Hi Barry

[www.seftondelmer.co.uk] has a good article about Allied Propaganda, interesting read. For an overview of Allied music for these purposes, visit: [www.fordham.edu].

Back to Charlie for a minute, visit: [blog.wfmu.org] and there are a load of free MP3 tracks you can download of the Orchestra in action, (Volumes 1 & 2) plus some articles etc - worth a visit. Track #15 is titled; 'Submarines'- the lyrics - in English - are something else, a very catchy chorus!

I imagine there was plenty of Allied propaganda around (just like today) during the war. A good cross-section of titles/songs/etc can be perused at: [www.radiorevisited.com] which, if nothjing else, provides a good list of artistes involved on the Allied side.

Finally, for a scholarly approach to the whole subject, try:
[libraryautomation.com] A very definitive piece of research by Robert Rowna and well worth a look.

Enjoy your Charlie/Charley MP3's!

Cheers ~ Wolf
